Myths and Fantasies, Why Fat To Fit In Minutes works.
The Nutritional Balance
Before we start on the journey to become Younger, Healthier, Fitter and Smarter, we need to forget about Aerobics, Calories, Fat, Cholesterol and Carbohydrates. We need to understand the FACTS, not "what everybody knows". The first Slogan to be dumped is "Move More, Eat Less, and Get Fit". That could actually make you fat. We will deal with "Move Smarter, Eat Better and Create who YOU were supposed to be in the first place. Forget yesterday's disappointments and Create a New Future!
The Metabolic Balance.
All food we eat and all we drink is going to be either used or stored. About 15% of the food energy is used for digestion. Another 15% is used for our common movement, such as walking and working. 40% is used to stay warm, keep the body alive, restore, rebuild and strengthen to adapt to changing conditions. 30% is used by the brain to think, create, survive and stay smart.
Common Aerobics only adds to the 15% section of movement. We will stimulate that too to a modest extent. Fat To Fit In Minutes also takes major advantage of all the other segments of energy use. The trick is to stimulate the release of Natural Human Growth Hormone. We are going to increase the energy spent in all areas. We are going to burn fat, build muscle, think better and rejuvenate our entire system.
The Calorie Bunk on the label.
What does the "Calories" on the Nutrition Label on the food mean? That number was found by burning a certain weight of food in a small furnace. The heat gain was measured and is now printed on your box of food. The "CALORIES" on the box is a MEANINGLESS NUMBER.
The Calories used to live Bunk.
There are some pure fantasy numbers that describe how many "calories" a man or woman spends per day. It is usually said to be around 2,000 Calories. It may be correct as an "average" for the World population, but is still a meaningless number. A 150 pounds overweight man may well spend over 5,000 Calories per day, just by being and keeping up with life. The same 150 pound overweight man may not have any fat loss while with a 1,200 Calorie diet because his body goes into Survival Mode. The body makes sure that no fat is lost. The body thinks it still lives in Stone Age. By not getting food, it thinks that there must have been a crop failure. Keep the fat for a year is the message that goes out to the fat control center. Fortunately, the same 150 pounds overweight body also reacts to a Life in Plenty, and decides to get rid of the extra fat.
I have personally been that 150 pounds overweight man, at age 55. I was on a 1,200 calorie a day diet for three months, without loosing a single pound. What I did loose was energy, sleep and my otherwise positive outlook on life. That was during the Fall of 2005.
Later, I must have burned 12,000 Calories per day over a three month period during the Spring of 2006, when I lost about 40 pounds. 80 pound loss from January 2006 to August of 2006. Then the weight loss flattened out, and I started to research what to do about it. The insight from my later research is the Fat To Fit In Minutes program.
Aerobic Fantasies.
It is true that fat does get broken down during modest exercise. It takes about 20 minutes of sweating to get to the fat burn state, but it does indeed happen. If the food supply also goes down, the body now thinks it is in a famine situation. Keep the fat is the message. There is some increase in the base metabolic rate, the 40%, because there will be some need to do some restoration and new build-up of muscle. We are going to spend 12 minutes every morning on the Solution. The downside of Aerobics is that it makes you hungry.
Fat, Cholesterol and Carbohydrates.
Cholesterol is a vital component of Human Life. We will die if we have too little of it. The entire nervous system is embedded in it. The walls of muscle cells are loaded with Cholesterol. It is also a vital component in the formation of many hormones. Cholesterol is used, together with sunshine to form Vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 is a near miracle drug for good health. The highest Cholesterol containing food we ever eat is Mothers Milk. When the body thinks it has too little Cholesterol, it makes its own very quickly, using Carbohydrates. No fat is needed to be involved in our own production of Cholesterol, another "common knowledge" issue, shown to be a fantasy.
In the 1920's it was found that if you feed Rabbits food that has lots of Cholesterol, it gets deposited in the blood vessels of the Rabbit. This is the foundation of the Cholesterol scare, and why it is shown on Your Food Label. Rabbits do not have anything to digest Cholesterol with. They are vegetarians. The Human digestive system is designed to use the vital nutrient Cholesterol from our first minute after birth. In 2005 it was found that if you feed Rabbits a diet high in Cholesterol, and also add Vitamin D3, there is no longer any Cholesterol deposited in their blood vessels. Cholesterol itself is not bad, but in some combinations it is unhealthy. A matter of balance.
Fat itself will not make you fat. Fat in food is an important signal to the stomach, and the brain, that we have eaten enough. So where does that big Beer Belly come from? Our bodies know rather well when we have received proper nutrition. When we eat something that has depleted nutrition, the body thinks it needs to eat more to get the nutrition it needs.
And here is where the Beer Belly grows. When we eat more carbohydrates than we need, several things happen. The poor nutritional value in junk food makes us eat more of it. Then we release more Insulin than needed, just to process the junk. The sugar and starch is now transformed to triglycerids, that is fat, and wait to be stored as Belly Fat, or Beer Belly. While the triglycerids were in the blood, on way to Beer Belly Storage, they did slight damage to the blood vessels. The repair material is Cholesterol, and we produce plenty, from Carbohydrates, for the needed repair. NO FAT was needed for either the raised Triglycerid or Cholesterol levels. Excess Carbohydrates made both, and also made us fat.
The worst carbohydrate is an excess of Fructose. High Fructose corn Syrup and common table sugar contain about 50% Fructose. The other 50% is Glucose. Fructose gets converted directly to Triglycerides in our liver. While this conversion happens, the liver is unable to do anything else. The rather high Glucose impact we got from the other half of the sweet sugar or corn syrup is now forcing an overdose of Insulin to be released. Insulin helps to convert Glucose to fat and to stuff fat into our fat cells. Carbohydrates, not fat is fattening. Most fruits have a rather modest amount of Fructose. In fruit, the Fructose is encapsulated in fiber, and released slowly. Then it is good for us. We also get many other vital nutrients by eating fresh fruit.
Other modern ingredients, like artificial sweeteners, artificial trans fats and MSG are unknown to the body. It has no idea what to do with those invaders. Very hot cooking also destroys nutrients, and makes us eat more. A telling experiment was done on Broccoli. Boiling reduced the level of vital Phyto-Nutrients by 40%. Microwave cooking destroyed 98%, because the Broccoli over heated at molecular level. Deep frying of anything would have the same effect.
Hidden Inflammation.
Hidden Inflammation is the most common undiagnosed disease of Modern Life. The main fuel source for this long-term disease is simple carbohydrates. The main source of simple Carbohydrates in an average North American diet is carbonated soda drinks. Soda drinks represent the highest single source of our calorie intake of any "food source".
Another contributor to hidden inflammation is rather unfortunate. All grains and beans use Lectin as their natural pesticide. It is concentrated in the bran. It is there to kill off insects, mold and bacteria. Like anything else, small amounts of most anything is harmless, or even beneficial, so occasional whole grain foods are OK. The problem comes when beans and grains become our primary food source. Lectin perforates the walls of the Digestive System, and causes inflammation. The perforation and inflammation prevents even an otherwise well balanced food intake to be absorbed. All that excellent nutrition is now quickly flushed through and out. Your Vitamins and minerals never got a chance to be absorbed.
Raw beans and grains are highest in Lectin. Raw Peanuts seem to be among the highest sources of Lectin, but any raw grains or beans are high. The best way to eliminate Lectin is by sprouting.
Bran, which contains Lectin, is the ideal way to bind and flush out excess Cholesterol with. Balance again.
Protein.
Here is a classical area of struggle between life-style choices. Nothing in the food debate is as full of ideological, near religious opinion, as Protein. Let us look at the historic evidence, such as pre-agriculture camp sites. That is where we evolved. Lots of animal bones and no cooking vessels. They ate cooked meat and fish. The fruits and vegetables must have been eaten raw. Nobody would have spent much time in gathering grains and beans. They are too small and cumbersome to eat raw.
The pre-agricultural Human was taller, slimmer and healthier than after we started agriculture. We also had longer lives. What did they eat, and can it be duplicated today?
The Original Food Choices.
We "grew up" as Humans, on meat from large grass eating animals, eggs, fish, above ground vegetables, fruits and nuts. The only, and likely much used form of preservation would have been fermentation. Nobody would have eaten any dairy products, grains or beans.
